G' Day! And welcome to Rolf's Cartoon Club! This newsletter is just one of
the many ways you can get involved with the Club. The best one of course is
watching the programmes! Keep watching because we've got some great
cartoons lined up with some special surprises. On each programme, as well
as the cartoons, you'll see our group of Workshoppers trying their
hand at different animation techniques.
"How do I get into the Workshop?" is probably what you are asking.
Well, inside you can find out. Workshoppers get to use exactly the same
sort of equipment as l’ve got in my Cartoon Cockpit, details of which
you can see below. But not everything is hi-tech!
Inside I'll show you how to make a Rolf 's Roller - simple repeat
animation that’s very effective. And the great thing is, you
don't have to be a great artist to make it work. Try it because
you‘ll probably surprise yourself!
See You

P.S. Don't forger to write to us for our letters page - there are prizes for the best we print.

THE
CARTOON
COCKPIT

This is where it all happens! Above, on the left, is the "topshot" taken
from the studio ceiling. That‘s the shot you see at the beginning of the
programme. In the main picture you can see some of the equipment.
The camera poking in at the top is linked to the computer on the right
and frames are "grabbed" with the mouse control by RoIf`s hand.
As you can see. Rolf surrounds himself with a fair amount of clutter!
Over on the left of the picture is a monitor linked to a controller that
allows Rolf to view cartoons frame by frame. And in the bottom
picture is the Workshop area. with much of the same equipment as
Rolf in his Cartoon Cockpit.
