Animation World
Animation World is a permanent tribute to
the wonders of animation and was opened in
July by none other than Rolf Harris.
Based at Liverpool’s Albert Dock,
‘Animation World' is a series of models,
drawings and original sets plus ‘hands-on’
exhibits providing entertainment and inform-
ation for young and old cartoon fans alike.
There are exhibits on many of your
favourite cartoon characters - Count
Duckula, Danger Mouse, the BFG, and Toad
and Ratty from ‘The Wind in the Willows’;
and you can find out how the characters
were created and made into cartoons.
Animation World is 10 minutes drive from
the M62; and is open daily from 10 am to
6 pm. The cost is £2.50 for children and
£3.00 for adults.
Animation World, Britannia Pavillion,
Albert Dock, Liverpool L69 5BJ.

Massive Mailbag
Every week in the Cartoon Club office we are
swamped with sacks filled with hundreds of
letters and pictures from people wanting to
join the Club. We now have over 123,000
members and this number just keeps rising!
The club has collected £79.08 worth of
stamps from your letters and this will go
to the £250 target for a guide dog puppy!
Oscar Winner
When Nick Park from Aardman Animations
came in to talk to me about his Oscar winning
animation ‘Creature Comforts’, he actually
brought in his Oscar too! It is so valuable that
he had to bring it in a strong box to protect it.
He showed me some of the animations he
made when he was as young as 10 years old...
which only goes to show that it is never too
early to start!!
