Because the club has thousands of members we have put
all the names, addresses and membership numbers
onto a computer. Under the Data Protection Act (1984)
we have to let you know that we have your name
and address stored in a computer system.
You can be assured that we never pass this information
to any other individual or organisation.
Your films and videos...
IN THE
FRAME
You could get your animations on tele-
vision! Just send in your completed films or
videos - we’d love to see them - and the best
examples will be shown in our next series in
the autumn. You might have something to
show which you’ve done all by yourself. But
it’s not easy to get hold of the equipment, so
here’s an idea. Try to get a group together
and you might be able to borrow some facilities
at a local workshop. Or there may be some
of you lucky enough to have an interested
teacher at your school who would be able to
help you get started. It's worth making
enquiries locally to see just what facilities,
you could take advantage of. And remember:
we wouldn’t expect your films to be very long.
So get cartooning, and send the results to:

There are a few celebrations coming up
this year. July 10th is the first birthday of
Animation World in Liverpool. Do you
remember, I opened it a whole year ago.
Seems like yesterday.
It’s also Goofy’s 60th birthday this year.
I bet that makes him even older than your
mum and dad. Although we do have some
members who will remember the year he
first appeared on the big screens of the
cinemas. Sylvester and Tweety Pie have
their 50th birthday, and Fred Flintstone is
30th. All special occasions. Do you know of
any others in the animation world?
The Watershed in Bristol is 10 years old and
their celebrations include screenings, work-
shops and an exhibition. If you're in the area
in July, pop in for a programme.
But the biggest celebration of all this year
just has to be the 100th edition of ROLF’S
CARTOON CLUB in December. More about
that in the next newsletter.
